NatureScot Research Report 1011 - Spatial ecology of flapper skate and spurdog (Dipturus intermedius - Dipturus batis complex) and spurdog (Squalus acanthias) in relation to the Loch Sunart to the Sound of Jura Marine Protected Area and Loch Etive
Acoustic receivers were installed in a small area of the Loch Sunart to the Sound of Jura MPA and in Loch Etive to study the fine scale movements of tagged skate and spurdog over a period of 14 months. This report details the findings, confirming some things we knew about the movements of these species in this area from angler tag recapture data but revealing some new details.
